Did Someone Say Decorations?
Ok and now as promised, pictures of my apartment as it is now decorated, minus the kitchen, because I hadn't done my dishes yet and sans the bathroom because it hasn't changed =) Also the other side of the living room is the current location of several Christmas presents and so was also left out, not to mention the messiest part of my apartment currently and is driving me a little crazy. I'm still missing a few pieces of furniture to finish the apartment off, but eh, it's good enough. Enjoy! Now that I have a lovely, wonderful smelling Christmas Tree, I do more than ever!!

Season of Wintery Things!
As promised some updated photos of my apartment in San Diego, BUT FIRST!! And it is truly a first, my very own Christmas tree. This is the first Christmas season that I have ever had my own real life/sized tree.
And after several nights spent searching stores for ornaments and in some cases making my own, in addition to a mid-tree lighting run to the store when I realized that I needed more lights because I didn't have enough =/ and a pretty penny later. TA DA!!!

Santa's Workshop

As the Christmas holiday approaches and I am working too hard, as usual. Here is one of the things that I am working on. Well...not really working on. I am actually submitting a paper that I wrote in graduate school about excavating naturally mummified human remains and looking at them as a cultural landscape instead of a dead body. Happy holiday subject, obviously hahahah. I might have to do a bit more editing before I submit, prior to the 15th but hey it's already written so why not?

Click, Click...
As a second post for the day I wanted to put up some pictures that I have taken over the last few months, some of which I would say are really excellent, by my standard anyway. I noticed that I have this affinity for taking pictures of statues, but to be honest they are pretty exceptional. I mean, if someone can make stone feel as if it is breathing then it deserves to be photographed.
Probably will be away for awhile again, but hopefully not too long.
The Living Space
Here are some pictures of my new place. Well, it's not that new, nor are these pictures... sorry. When I finish it and have all my furniture, which is on the horizon, then I will post more up to date pictures. As an aside, I am sort of casually shopping for another place since the walls here are paper thin and I don't like other people hearing me sing while I am jamming to music in the morning, whilst getting ready lol.
I don't really have much to say other than I have been working stupid, crazy hours. I doubt any of you have ever pulled 3, 20+ hour shifts at work in two weeks. Not to mention that a normal day of work for me is somewhere around the mark of 12-15 hours, since I have two jobs. Yes, it will kill me some day; no I am not ok with that; but we do what we have to do and I am getting great experience. Plus, from having no job for 7 months, to being so busy I only have time to eat, sleep and shower; I will always pick the latter. What can I say? In that respect I guess you could accurately call me a glutton for punishment (masochistic) if you so choose.
Anyway, back to laundry and vegging on my one day off. =)

The News

So almost a year later, but let's not get hung up on that. Here is something that interests me at least, since some of you know that my Master's dissertation was on Vikings. Have a read. Also, you all may read the newspaper, i.e. the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, what have you, well this is my newspaper =)
