Out & Back

So, yes it has been a very long while, and I apologize for my lack of exposure on here in the last....ok so it is been so long that I can't really remember when the last time was, which therefore means it has been far too long. But in the interest of getting to the point I will stop with this rambling and move on.

For those of you who aren't totally caught up on the recent events here is a brief recap:
 1. I got a new job
2. I moved back to the SF bay area
3. I have been doing more photography
4. I started rock climbing (and am quite good)
5. Ok I can't think of a fifth yet but I am sure that there is one.

I work at an international energy company that technically is based in France, but the South West regional office that I work in is located in San Ramon. I have been commuting from either Berkeley or Benicia depending on the day. Friday's are the best because there isn't any traffic and is the only day that I don't wish that I had a motorcycle so that I could split lanes and get around all the other people, who like me have too much other stuff or are too stubborn to carpool or take public transport. lol You can check out my company and a few of the things that I have produced for them already in the last 3 months by clicking on this link: http://www.enxco.com/projects/list/ The projects that I am currently working on Avalon Wind, Pacific Wind and Catalina Solar, though I don't really work that much on the solar project and can't take any credit really for the website info for it or Pacific Wind. I did, however write and edit the newsletter for Pacific Wind and I have help do some of the mapping stuff for Catalina Solar. So Yeah me! :)

I will post some pictures of my fun time antics from out door rock climbing a few weeks ago. Not that most of you know how the rating system of rock climbing works but in case you do I started my first day of indoor climbing at a 5.9 and am now climbing 5.11a's and 5.11b's. If you want to check out the rating system and a little bit about what it means, you can go to this link: http://outdoorswithdave.com/climbing/climbing-ratings This link also talks a little bit about bouldering which I generally do on the days that I don't climb. I am on a v2 and v3+'s which are very difficult and require lots of flexability which I don't really have at the moment, but I am working on.

I think this is enough for my first post back on the wagon, but I will post pictures from some of the other things that I have been up too soon.

Hope you are all well and happy!

JV Mining Town

I went with my friends Josh and Vio up to the little mining town called Julian today. We had a lovely time, ate some yummy foods, and then found a cool little shop that, among other things, sold "Carnivale" masks (no pictures of those I'm afraid)...so of course we bought one each so that we could eventually have a masquerade party (of which I am sure there will be many, many pictures, when we get around it lol). Hope that you enjoy some of the photos from our trip. We are planning on going to visit Anza Borrego soon so I will be sure to take lots of pictures there too!

Hello Jonesy, What Do You Make Of This?

Indiana Jones never did archaeology like this!

Mummies are so cool! Check out this article about how they are using medical science to help keep mummies intact and still find out what is inside their wrappings! http://archaeologynewsnetwork.blogspot.com/2012/01/scan-unwraps-mummys-secrets.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+TheArchaeologyNewsNetwork+%28The+Archaeology+News+Network%29

Also, this one is another passion of mine, experimental archaeology. Check out what they are going to do next!
